To Whom It May Concern:

Craig Miller, Bangor-based general contractor, has requested a letter of reference.  We’re happy to be able to say that this is gladly and easily done!

Craig and his crew were the general contractors when we built our architect-designed house in 2002-2003.  The architect assisted us in putting the hob out to bid.  Craig beat out two contractors from MDI.  We felt then, and feel now, that his price was very fair.  Not only that – the price bis basically ended up being the price.  There were almost no changes of plan, no overruns, and the inevitable one or two minor miscues were amicably negotiated.  Furthermore, the promised schedule was kept to.

Craig’s crew always consists of very able, personable workers, and he has the same expectation of any subcontractors he retains.  The quality of work is extraordinarily high.

Since completion, the relationship hasn’t ended.  Craig has stood by the house, willingly consulting about the precious few minor issues which have arisen, and in three cases (two simple follow-up, one an insurance case relating to wind damage) sending a crew member to rectify matters.

Briefly put, the experience of having Craig and his crew build our house was one of good orginaization, good communication and good accountability.  They have been helpful since ’03.  We are very happy with the house.

We heartily recommend Craig as a contractor.

Sincerely,

George and Gene B., Castine, Maine
